One of the great charms of the UK lies in the use throughout the ages of local stone as a construction material. Of all the regional variations, Cotswold stone is very highly regarded and specified in building construction today. No other stone will match the way in which the tone of this unique stone mellows over time creating a real warmth to country villages and architectural buildings. We extract some of the best stone in the Cotswolds, which we select and split by hand to produce a rough faced building stone suitable for both internal or external use. Colours vary from grey to cream contributing to the special character of Cotswold stone used to great effect alongside the traditional limestone ashlar plinth, quoins and window surrounds. Our coursed natural building stone is cut using a hydraulic guillotine, producing a size range of facing stones that adhere to current UK building regulations as a facing material. Supplied in varied heights and lengths, with a bed dimension typically between 100-125 mm. Please scroll down to view samples. It is available as:
